Mahamrityunjaya Mantra is one among the oldest and most important mantras in Indian mythology and spirituality. This mantra belongs to Lord Shiva. It is the is the Great Death-conquering mantra, a combination of three Hindi language words i.e. ‘Maha’, which means great, ‘Mrityun’ means death and ‘Jaya’ means victory, which turns into conquer or victory over death. Mahamrityunjaya Mantra also known as the Tryambakam Mantra, is a verse of the Rigveda (RV 7.59.12). According to Shiva Puran when you have fear of any unknown event this chant helps you to overcome the fear.
It is said to be beneficial for mental, emotional and physical health and to be a moksha mantra which bestows longevity and immortality.
